
week 1
Mark has been busy on the exercise bike with three sessions already ! he also has clocked up the miles on his MTB with a cold and wet 25 miles
Chris has mostly been thinking " i really should start training " and with that in mind did two three mile runs .
week 2
Mark is racing ahead with the training incorporating a heart rate monitor and working hard on the exercise bike , Chris did another two runs this time uping the pace but keeping the mileage the same .
Both riders did a very wet and very very cold 25/27 miles on the training bikes Mark on his mtb with nice new tyres and Chris on his hybrid , the wind tried its best to break both but the smiles remained till the very end , hot drinks later both riders recovered quickly .
week 3
the guys are taking on the mighty cuckoo hill as part of a 50 mile training cycle
Mark has again been hitting the exercise bike while chris has clocked up a total of 90 road miles this week .
week 4
this week has seen very high winds which has tried its best to hinder the guys efforts ! chris and mark pushed on regardless. two road sessions for chris and one off road session , mark joined chris for a road ride and continued his indoor sessions on the exercise bike . another good week of training .
week 5
Mark has been hard at work this week on the exercise bike , combined with the exercise and following a heathy diet he's seen a good reduction in weight (not that he needed a diet ). Chris has had an easy week with only a few road miles but later joined mark for a good 50 mile cycle (with 3500ft assent ) .both riders are well on the way to getting on shape for the journey that awaits them !
week 6
this week seen mark out on the road bike and indoor exercise bike with a weight session as well thrown in , chris did more road miles this week with a total just over 100 miles done in some very strong head winds .
Week 7
Mark had a good training week with indoor exercise bike sessions and road rides saturday and sunday . chris suffered from the dreaded nuro virus this week and found himself to unwell to participate in any form of exercise , he will return to training next week .
week 8
both riders are now suffering from the dreaded virus , but that didn't stop them from doing a 60 mile ride on sunday (with a few near vomit moments)
week 9
A 60 mile cycle that included a trip to belvour castle was the training for the boys this week , hale stones , strong winds and rain are becoming a weekly challenge for the guys .
week 10
a visit to a section of the c2c course was the chosen training this week , but gail force winds and strong persistent rain put a stop to the 50 planned miles , the guys learned a lot from the visit to the area .
week11
more hills this week and 60 miles done , lots of head winds but lots of fun .
week 12
A monster 80 mile course was chosen and was a challenge ! hills and lots of them
week 13
An easier week than most was in store for the guys with lower mileage than normal , but great fun along the way
week 14
60 miles done and some great countryside to boot , both enjoying the climbs of south rutland !
week 15
another 60 miles in the saddle this week with the best weather seen so far , made a real change to have the sun on our backs .
